About Frontlight
Medical research worldwide, searchable by disease and dated at every step.
Frontlight Research collects clinical trials, research studies, publications and the research groups behind them from public registries, and arranges them by disease. Every fact on the site shows its source and the date it was last checked.
Frontlight is not medical advice and does not decide whether a study fits you. Talk to your doctor or the study team before you act on anything you read here.
Texts marked “Machine summary” are generated automatically from registry and publication data and can be wrong. They always link the record they were made from.
Data sources
We read only public, official records. We do not collect contact details of researchers from websites.
- ClinicalTrials.gov – the US National Library of Medicine’s registry of clinical studies (trials, sites, status, eligibility as written by the sponsor).
- EU CTIS – the European Union’s Clinical Trials Information System, run by the European Medicines Agency (trials authorised in the EU/EEA, their sites and status).
- PubMed – the index of biomedical literature (titles, journals and dates of publications).
- OpenAlex – an open catalogue of research works and institutions (which groups publish on a disease).
- WHO ICTRP – coming soon.
Registry data is refreshed daily; the date of the last check is shown next to each record.
