AI-based Decision Support in Acute Chest Pain
A Randomized Controlled Trial of an AI-based Decision Support in Emergency Department Chest Pain Patients (AIDE-CP1)
Source: ClinicalTrials.gov · Last updated 7 Oct 2026
Brief summary (registry, in English)
The AIDE-CP1 trial will test whether a decision support tool based on artificial intelligence (AI) can improve care for patients who come to an emergency department with chest pain. The AI tool uses the patient's age, sex, first blood tests and ECG to estimate the risk of a heart attack within 30 days and suggests what to do next. About 4,500 patients at five Swedish emergency departments will be included. The study will examine whether the AI tool can shorten time spent in the emergency department while maintaining patient safety. It will also study healthcare use, costs, and how AI affects doctors' decisions.
