Pancreas Transplant Alone in Uremia and Non-uremia Patients

Pancreas Transplant Alone in Uremia and Non-uremia Patients: A Case-control Study

Source: ClinicalTrials.gov · Last updated 14 Oct 2026

Brief summary (registry, in English)

Theoretically, pancreas transplant alone in uremia (PTAu) or pancreas before kidney transplant (PBK) may be considered for patients awaiting both pancreas and kidney grafts, alongside options like simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplant (SPK) and pancreas after kidney transplant (PAK).This study was to assess the justification for PTAu or PBK by comparing the endocrine function, immunological responses, and graft survival outcomes with those of the pancreas transplant alone in non-uremia (PTAn) group. This study also focused on evaluating the feasibility of PTAu or PBK by comparing surgical outcomes and patient survival rates between the PTAu and PTAn groups.
