Anterior Segment Anatomy Assessed by Swept-Source OCT in Ocular Surgery Patients

Ocular Anatomical Parameters in Patients Undergoing Anterior Segment Surgery Based on Swept-Source Optical Coherence Tomography: An Observational Study

Source: ClinicalTrials.gov · Last updated 29 Oct 2026

Brief summary (registry, in English)

This observational study aims to evaluate ocular anatomical parameters in patients undergoing anterior segment surgery using swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT). Anterior segment surgery, including procedures involving the cornea, lens, and other anterior eye structures, may be associated with changes in ocular anatomy. SS-OCT is a non-invasive imaging technique that provides detailed images of the anterior structures of the eye and allows quantitative assessment of ocular anatomical parameters. Patients undergoing anterior segment surgery at Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University, will be included in this study. SS-OCT will be used to assess ocular anatomical parameters, and the collected measurements will be analyzed to characterize anatomical features and explore potential differences among patients undergoing different types of anterior segment surgery. The findings of this study may improve understanding of ocular anatomical characteristics in patients undergoing anterior segment surgery and provide useful information for clinical assessment and surgical management.

Who cannot take part

Copied verbatim from ClinicalTrials.gov and grouped by topic. Only the trial team decides who can take part.

Other illness

  • Presence of severe ocular trauma, intraocular tumors, severe corneal disease, active intraocular inflammation, or other ocular conditions that may substantially affect anterior segment structural assessment.
  • History of complex intraocular surgery that may significantly alter anterior segment anatomy and is considered unsuitable for inclusion by the investigator.
  • Other conditions considered by the investigator to make the patient unsuitable for participation in the study.

Other

  • Follow-up duration of less than 3 months.
  • Substantial missing ophthalmic examination or perioperative data that prevents the required study analyses.
  • Inability to obtain valid anterior segment imaging data due to severe corneal opacity, poor ocular fixation, inadequate cooperation, or other related factors.

Who the study is looking for

  • Voluntary provision of written informed consent.
  • 18≤Age≤90 years.
  • Patients diagnosed by an ophthalmologist with cataract, primary angle-closure disease, or other anterior segment disorders requiring anterior segment surgery.
  • Availability of complete or accessible preoperative and postoperative clinical records and ophthalmic examination data.

Age in the registry: 18 years to 90 years · Sex: All
