Effects of Balance Training in Individuals With Glaucoma

Effects of Balance Training on Balance Performance, Fall Risk, and Fear of Falling in Individuals With Glaucoma: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Source: ClinicalTrials.gov · Last updated 2 Nov 2026

Brief summary (registry, in English)

Glaucoma is a chronic progressive eye disease characterized by visual field loss, which may adversely affect postural control, functional mobility, and increase the risk and fear of falling. This randomized controlled trial aims to investigate the effects of balance training on balance performance, fall risk, and fear of falling in individuals with glaucoma. Participants will be randomly assigned to either a balance training group or a control group. The intervention group will participate in a structured balance training program for eight weeks, while the control group will continue their routine medical care. Balance performance, functional mobility/fall risk, and fear of falling will be assessed using the Berg Balance Scale, Timed Up and Go Test, and Falls Efficacy Scale-Internatio
