- history of multiple strokes
- time since stroke of more than 3 months
- cognitive impairment, including aphasia, limiting the ability to understand research tasks
- psychiatric disorders
- diagnosed or treated cancer
- severe coronary artery disease
- presence of orthopedic or neurological conditions affecting the upper limb
- other severe internal medical conditions that may affect the patient's quality of life

- obesity (BMI greater than 40)
Who the study is looking for
- first episode of ischemic stroke
- subacute stage of stroke (less than 3 months)
- mild to moderate upper limb hemiparesis
- absence of cognitive deficit and ability to understand research tasks
- adequate motor or mental imagery performance
