Impact of Ultra-Processed Food Reduction on Remission Duration in Pediatric Crohn's Disease

Impact of Ultra-Processed Food Reduction on Remission Duration in Paediatric Patients With Crohn's Disease

Source: ClinicalTrials.gov · Last updated 20 Oct 2026

Brief summary (registry, in English)

Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. This study will investigate whether reducing the intake of ultra-processed foods through regular consultations with a registered dietitian can help children and adolescents with Crohn's disease stay in remission for longer. Participants will be randomly assigned to either an intervention group receiving guidance on reducing ultra-processed foods or a control group receiving standard healthy eating advice. The study will also evaluate the safety, nutritional adequacy, growth, and quality of the dietary intervention.
