Adjunctive Aflibercept Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AAA) Study
Forrás: ClinicalTrials.gov · Utoljára frissítve: 2026. okt. 23.
Rövid összefoglaló (regiszter, angolul)

Korábbi kezelés
- Prior aqueous shunt or cyclodestructive procedure.
- Prior exposure to anti-VEGF in either eye.
- Previous or active ocular neovascularization.
- Chronic or recurrent uveitis, or acute uveitis within 90 days of surgery.
- Use of topical steroids within 30 days of surgery.
- Unwilling to discontinue contact lens use after surgery.
- Need for glaucoma surgery combined with other ocular procedures (i.e. cataract surgery, penetrating keratoplasty, or retinal surgery) or anticipated need for additional ocular surgery.
- Participation in an investigational study within 30 days prior to screening visit that involved treatment with any drug (excluding vitamins and minerals) or device
- Men or women of childbearing potential (WOCBP)* who are unwilling to practice highly effective contraception prior to the initial dose/start of the first treatment, during the study, and for at least 3 months after the last dose.
- Highly effective contraceptive measures include:
- stable use of combined (estrogen and progestogen-containing) hormonal contraception (oral, intravaginal, transdermal) or progestogen-only hormonal contraception (oral, injectable, implantable) associated with inhibition of ovulation initiated 2 or more menstrual cycles prior to screening
- and/or sexual abstinence
- Postmenopausal women must be amenorrhoeic for at least 12 months without an alternative medical cause in order not to be considered of childbearing potential. Pregnancy testing and contraception are not required for women with documented hysterectomy or tubal ligation.
- Vasectomized partner or vasectomized study participant must have received medical assessment of the surgical success.
- Sexual abstinence is considered a highly effective method only if defined as refraining from heterosexual intercourse during the entire period of risk associated with the study treatments. The reliability of sexual abstinence needs to be evaluated in relation to the duration of the clinical trial and the preferred and usual lifestyle of the subject.
- Periodic abstinence (calendar, symptothermal, post-ovulation methods), withdrawal (coitus interruptus), spermicides only, and lactational amenorrhea method (LAM) are not acceptable methods of contraception. Female condom and male condom should not be used together.

Laborértékek
- History of other disease, metabolic dysfunction, physical examination finding, or clinical laboratory finding giving reasonable suspicion of a disease or condition that contraindicates the use of aflibercept 8 mg or that might affect interpretation of the results of the study or render the patient at high risk for treatment complications
